Walking with Dinosaurs 3D is a 3D movie that transports the audience to the Cretaceous period, a long-gone era when dinosaurs are still alive. The movie is a re-imagining of the 1999 TV series that consisted of seven episodes and won two BAFTAs and three Emmys. The movie starts when Karl Urban, a paleontologist, takes his niece and nephew on a trip to Alaska, where he wants to make some discoveries and teach them about history.
The movie was created with state-of-the-art CGI recreations of dinosaurs. It is highly educational as people can identify many species of dinosaurs from over 70 million years ago. Because of its high-quality CGI and graphics, Walking with Dinosaurs 3D was nominated for the AACTA award for the best visual effects for animation. The visuals and representation of the dinosaurs are extremely accurate, and the audience can easily determine the species. The movie is very educative, and children can learn many valuable lessons from it as it promotes friendship regardless of gender, race, or species.
